Plainfield Bible Church has the following purpose:
U P R E A C H
Our Responsibility to God
EXALT HIM
We believe that the chief end of man and of Christ's Church is to glorify
God and to enjoy Him forever (I Peter 4:11; Ephesians 3:21). He alone
is to be praised and worshipped. All that we do at Plainfield Bible
Church is for the ultimate glory of God (I Corinthians 10:31), because He
alone is worthy.
I N R E A C H
Our Responsibility to Each Other
EDIFY HIS CHURCH
We believe that the local church is the "pillar and support of truth" (I
Timothy 3:15). As such, we are committed to the faithful expository
teaching of the Scriptures, "for the equipping of the saints for the work of
service, to the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to
the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature
man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ."
(Ephesians 4:12-13). We proclaim the excellencies of Jesus Christ (I
Peter 2:9) and the "foolishness of the cross" (I Corinthians 1:18), and
encourage one another to "walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which
you have been called" (Ephesians 4:1).
O U T R E A C H
Our Responsibility to the World
EVANGELIZE THE LOST
We believe that the local church, as Christ's witness (Acts 1:8), is to
proclaim the Name of Jesus Christ and His grace to all the nations (Matthew
28:19-20), instructing them that Christ suffered and rose again from the
dead the third day, and that salvation and forgiveness of sin can be
obtained by faith in Jesus Christ and by repentance from sin (Luke
24:46-48).
