Attention Teens!

Mark your calendars for Sunday, September 19th.

We will meet for our evening class at the Faulkner barn.

New Studies Begin September 5th -

Sunday School 9:00 AM:

  • Jr. & Sr. High - Colossians (Teen Room/CR110) - Led by Pastor Letterman, Colossians centers upon the supremacy of Jesus Christ, that is, how He is first and foremost in all things.  Because the believer is rooted in Him, alive in Him, hidden in Him, and complete in Him, it is therefore utterly inconsistent for you to live life without Him.  The Christian's life must be built upon the foundation that Jesus Christ is completely sufficient for every spiritual and practical need of one's earthly existence.  This study will challenge you in keeping the priority of Christ in all things.

  • Adult Class #1 - Trusting God (Great Room 2/CR 203A-B) - Led by Lynn Phillips; we will be studying the sovereignty of God, using the book "Trusting God" by Jerry Bridges as a guide.  Some questions we will address during the study include:  Can I really trust God?  Is He really in control?  If God is really good, why does He let bad things happen to good people?  How should I go about seeking God's will for my life? How does God want me to respond to adversity in my life?  The goal of our study will be to understand what God's Word teaches regarding God's sovereignty, wisdom, and love for His people, and then to apply these truths to our lives in a practical way.  The study time will include opportunities to share how you are seeking to trust God in day-to-day circumstances or challenges.  You will also be encouraged to memorize a few key verses that will help solidify your study in trusting God.  (Book needed available at the Book Center).

  • Adult Class #2 - Respectable Sins (Music Room/CR205) - Led by Tom Paschall.  Have Christians become so preoccupied with the major sins of our society that we have lost sight of our need to deal with our own subtle sins?  What about sins we tolerate in ourselves like anxiety, impatience, jealousy, pride, unthankfulness and judgmentalism?  This class will help us examine our lives and ways we can deal with these more "respectable" sins.  (Book needed available at the Book Center).

Sunday Evening 6:00 PM -

  • Jr. & Sr. High - Basic Teen Body Builders (Teen Room/CR110) - A series of lessons designed to help cover the basics of the Christian faith to build teens up in their study of God's Word.

  • Adult Class #1 - Hope in Christ (CR 201) - Led by Sue Goda (Ladies only!) - Hope in Christ involves teaching in four life areas:  1)  Personal walk; 2) Evangelism; 3) How to discipleship; and 4) How to do Bible based problem solving.  Note:  This class runs from September 2010 through May 2011.

  • Adult Class #2 - Jeremiah (Auditorium) - Led by Mike Luce - Continuing the study of what it is like to be faithful to God for years on end and see no apparent evidence of your labor.  Is God sufficient for you to rejoice when suffering in trials?  When judgment is promised is God still willing to spare the repentant?  Mike Luce continues to unfold the calling and message of "The Weeping Prophet".

  • Adult Class #3 - Colossians (Great Room 2/CR203 A-B) - Led by Pastor Letterman, Colossians centers upon the supremacy of Jesus Christ, that is, how He is first and foremost in all things.  Because the believer is rooted in Him, alive in Him, hidden in Him, it is therefore utterly inconsistent for you to live life without Him.  The Christians' life must be built upon the foundation that Jesus Christ is completely sufficient for every spiritual and practical need of one's earthly existence.  This study will challenge you in keeping the priority of Christ in all things.

Ladies Thursday Morning Bible Study - Thursdays from 9:00 to 11:00 AM September 9th through November 18th.  Classes Include:

  • Class #1 - Be Hopeful (Led by Darlene Glesenkamp) - Peter wrote this letter to Christians who were familiar with suffering and persecution because of their loyalty to Christ.  He knew they were in for more "fiery trials".  We, too, may suffer persecution for our loyalty to Christ and face our own "fiery trials", but we can also be hopeful.  Suffering leads to glory, and God has given us all the grace we need to honor Him when the going gets tough.  Let's learn what Peter has to teach us about how we can enjoy God's blessings in the midst of trials.  (Book needed available at the Book Center).

  • Class #2 - Damsels in Distress (Led by Deborah Kottke) - From "gossip", "legalism", to "hurt feelings" this study will help us deal with the sin in our own lives and apply the biblical solutions for problems with others, ourselves, and the world.  Be prepared by reading pages 15-25 in Chapter One:  "Casting All My Cares on Whom?" for our first meeting on Sept. 9th.  (Book needed available at the Book Center).

Lord's Supper & Dinner - Sept. 29th; Oct. 27th; and Dec. 29th at 6:30 PM.

Lord's Supper - November 28th during the Morning Worship hour.
