"Twelve Extraordinary Women"

One of the areas of Women's Ministry at Plainfield Bible Church is encouragement in the Word, through Bible study.  This past Fall we were encouraged and challenged by the book, "Twelve Extraordinary Women", by John MacArthur.  As we looked at the lives of women such as Eve, Sarah, Rahab, Mary Magdalene and the Samaritan woman, we were reminded that God loves sinners and he can redeem even the most horrible life.  As we studied women like Ruth, Hannah, Anna and Lydia we saw examples of faithfulness and devotion to God.  In the life of Lydia, the Biblical truth was emphasized that if God did not draw us to Christ, we would not come.

John 6:44 says, "No one comes to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him."  These twelve studies were led by several women in our church.  It was a blessing to see how each woman presented the lesson on the chapter she was teaching.  As we reviewed each chapter there was opportunity for discussion and personal application.  We got a real appreciation for how we could apply these principles and lessons to our own lives.  What a privilege it is to study God's Word and be able to share with other believers!
